As a key member of our operational team, the successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive training programs for new hires, providing support to senior leadership, and developing and maintaining standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct operational role-based training for all new hires within the University Health System- San Antonio.
  • Assist senior leadership in providing support to functional working teams, including billing, collections, customer service, cash posting, and refunds.
  • Develop, review, and maintain all standard operating procedures used within the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and high-quality patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, regulatory requirements, and best practices in medical billing and collections.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a hospital or physician billing office and/or patient access.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and billing/collection practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret insurance explanation of benefits (EOBs).
  • Knowledge of payer edits, rejections, rules, and how to respond appropriately.
  • Accuracy in identifying the cause of rejections/denials and selecting the most appropriate method for resolution.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in timely and successful appeals to insurance companies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
