Optum, a leading health services company, is seeking a skilled Patient Services Representative to join our team in the Tri-State region. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional patient service and support, ensuring a positive experience for all patients
  • Verify patient demographic and insurance information, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Process patient registrations, including obtaining signatures and scanning insurance cards
  • Collect and post payments from patients, adhering to cash control policies and procedures
  • Invite patients to enroll in the Patient Portal, ensuring compliance with Meaningful Use guidelines
  • Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments, adhering to scheduling policies and procedures
  • Obtain or issue HMO insurance referrals as required for maximum reimbursement of services rendered
  • Maintain supply inventories and equipment, communicating needs to the office supervisor
  • Ensure a neat and organized environment in the reception and waiting room areas
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of customer service or healthcare-related experience
  • Intermediate level of computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience as a receptionist in a healthcare setting
  • Experience working with electronic health records
  • Experience working with scheduling programs
