Position Overview:

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Laser Welder for a contract opportunity. This role requires 100% onsite presence.


Key Responsibilities:


- Execute laser welding on microelectronic assemblies to establish hermetic seals.
- Operate automated machinery, conduct leak checks, and manage vacuum ovens and thermal chambers.
- Utilize mechanical presses, inert gas mixture gloveboxes, and solder vacuum furnaces as necessary.
- Troubleshoot assemblies that fail leak checks and engage in various microelectronic assembly tasks.


Required Qualifications:


- Minimum of 3 years of experience with laser welding equipment for hermetic sealing.
- Proficient in working under a microscope for extended durations.
- Ability to interpret and work from detailed process documentation and schematics.
- Competent computer skills for accessing drawings and work instructions.
- Familiarity with hand tools including torque drivers and tweezers.
- Strong dexterity and coordination between hands and eyes.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.


Preferred Qualifications:


- Experience in a collaborative team setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of J-STD-001 standards.
- Experience in ESD and FOD-controlled environments.
- Background in mechanical assembly of small electronic devices.
- Familiarity with military products in ISO 9001 / AS9100 regulated environments.


Education:

High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
