Environmental Compliance Specialist Required
A prominent chemical supplier in the industrial and water treatment sectors is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist. This role is pivotal in ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal environmental regulations, with a particular emphasis on environmental program standards.
This is a full-time, permanent position located at the company’s facility. The role includes occasional travel to various locations.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, implement, and uphold environmental health and safety (EHS) programs and policies to foster a safe workplace that complies with regulatory requirements, including EPA, CalARP, ADEQ, and UTDEQ.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits of facilities to identify and address potential hazards and risks.
- Provide training and safety guidance to staff members.
- Collaborate with various teams to resolve environmental issues and execute corrective measures.
- Maintain comprehensive records of environmental inspections, incidents, and training to ensure compliance with reporting obligations.
- Act as the primary liaison for regulatory agencies, ensuring the timely and accurate submission of necessary documentation and permits.
- Engage in incident investigations and propose preventive strategies.
- Stay informed about changes in environmental regulations and industry best practices.
- This position requires work in diverse indoor and outdoor environments, including offices, warehouses, and manufacturing sites. The role involves some travel and fieldwork, necessitating endurance for standing and walking during various tasks.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in environmental management, preferably within the chemical manufacturing sector.
- Strong understanding of EPA compliance and CalARP regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Detail-oriented with robust analytical skills.
- Professional certifications such as Qualified Industrial Stormwater Practitioner (QISP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) are advantageous.
This position typically follows a Monday through Friday schedule, with standard office hours. The salary range is competitive, reflecting experience and qualifications, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
