Job Summary

Trinity Consultants Engineering & EHS Workforce Solutions is seeking an experienced Environmental Specialist to join our team. As an Environmental Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Environmental Compliance: Implement and manage environmental compliance plans, including federal, state, and local regulations (Title V, SWPPP, SPCC, RCRA, etc.).
  • Site Inspections: Participate in and/or direct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and corporate policies.
  • Recordkeeping: Manage site recordkeeping requirements, including documentation and reporting.
  • Environmental Management System (EMS): Routinely update and maintain the EMS to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS): Monitor and maintain CEMS to ensure accurate emissions data.
  • Waste Management: Manage and schedule waste transportation and disposal in accordance with regulations.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain productive relationships with plant personnel, regulatory agency personnel, and external stakeholders.
  • Communication: Successfully communicate and execute company policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Project Management: Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize projects.
  • Collaboration: Work with outside consultants, contractors, and other resources to achieve project goals.
  • Support: Provide support to staff at other company locations in the Western United States.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Sciences, Geology, Biology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental compliance areas, including air (Title V), solid waste/hazardous materials management, radiation detection systems, and water quality management in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: General knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and familiarity with heavy industrial operations.
  • Certifications: Ability to obtain US EPA Method 9 Certification (Visible Emissions Certification) and other required training.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Skills: Excellent writing and computer skills, including Microsoft software products (e.g., Word, Excel, & PowerPoint).
  • Communication: Ability to clearly communicate expectations, issues, and feedback.
