Position Summary:

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) at United Digestive plays a pivotal role in providing comprehensive anesthesia care. This position involves both independent practice and collaboration with a diverse healthcare team to ensure the delivery of exceptional, evidence-based anesthesia services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough pre-screening evaluations via telephone and chart assessments prior to procedures.
  • Document pre-anesthesia evaluations and obtain informed consent for anesthesia services.
  • Administer and manage pre-anesthetic medications and treatments.
  • Develop tailored anesthesia care plans for each patient.
  • Select and prepare necessary equipment, monitors, and medications for anesthesia administration.
  • Perform all necessary airway management procedures.
  • Facilitate patient recovery from anesthesia, ensuring stability during transfers.
  • Administer post-anesthesia support for cardiovascular and respiratory systems.
  • Evaluate patient responses to anesthesia and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia care and evaluations.
  • Manage emergency situations effectively, including airway management and administration of emergency medications.
  • Promote patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Report any adverse events and identify potential risks to patient safety.

Qualifications:

  • Active state licensure as a registered nurse, adhering to all relevant regulations.
  • Graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program.
  • Current certification from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.
  • Preferred experience of three to five years in anesthesia, with endoscopy experience being advantageous.
