Position Summary:

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) at United Digestive is responsible for delivering comprehensive, evidence-based anesthesia care in collaboration with a diverse healthcare team. This role involves pre-procedure patient assessments, administering anesthesia, and monitoring patients throughout their endoscopic procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre-procedure evaluations via telephone and chart reviews.
  • Document thorough pre-anesthesia assessments.
  • Ensure informed consent is obtained for anesthesia services.
  • Manage pre-anesthetic medications and treatments.
  • Develop and execute individualized anesthesia care plans.
  • Prepare and utilize necessary equipment and medications for anesthesia administration.
  • Administer analgesics and anesthetics as required.
  • Oversee all aspects of airway management.
  • Facilitate patient recovery post-anesthesia by monitoring responses and administering necessary medications.
  • Provide respiratory support to maintain adequate ventilation and oxygenation.
  • Evaluate patient responses during the post-anesthesia phase and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Conduct post-anesthesia evaluations and care.
  • Manage emergency situations effectively, including airway management and administration of emergency medications.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and quality improvement efforts.
  • Report any adverse events or near misses to management.
  • Identify and communicate potential risks related to patient safety.

Qualifications:

  • Active state licensure as a registered nurse, adhering to relevant regulations.
  • Graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program.
  • Current certification from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.
  • Preferred experience of three to five years in anesthesia, with prior endoscopy experience being advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with EMR systems.
