Key Responsibilities
Primary Duties
- Establish and implement a strategy for tracking and identifying underperforming suppliers.
- Collaborate with low-performing suppliers to enhance their on-time delivery and overall performance metrics.
- Employ data analysis and problem-solving techniques to uncover the root causes of supplier performance challenges, engaging with suppliers and relevant Unison teams to address these issues.
- Conduct regular onsite visits to suppliers to interact with key contacts and assist in resolving performance-related challenges.
- Create a systematic approach for communicating performance metrics to suppliers.
- Foster strong relationships with senior leaders within supplier organizations to drive improvements and ensure sustained performance.
- Utilize lean methodologies to identify any internal Unison issues contributing to low supplier performance and collaborate cross-functionally to implement solutions.
- Work closely with commodity managers to formulate and maintain the strategy for the Unison supply base.
- Identify and onboard new suppliers to enhance competition for key products.
- Oversee the product transition process during the onboarding of new suppliers.
- Manage the product transition process when shifting parts from in-house production to external sourcing.
- Conduct assessments of supplier capacity to ensure readiness for future demands.
- Guide early-career professionals seeking to develop their sourcing and leadership capabilities.
- Act as a skilled influencer, adept at conveying complex information clearly. Serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues, explaining challenging or sensitive topics and working towards consensus.
- Utilize sound judgment to make decisions or resolve moderately complex issues affecting the function. Approach existing solutions from new perspectives, leveraging technical expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Incorporate multiple internal and limited external sources to inform decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 9 years of experience in supply chain management.
- At least 5 years of experience in supply chain operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
- Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex issues.
- Demonstrated experience in leading programs and projects.
- Competence in documenting, planning, marketing, and executing initiatives.
- Established project management expertise.
- Prior experience in managing supplier and/or customer delivery timelines.
- Familiarity with Oracle or other ERP systems.
