Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Associate Director to join our team at the Center for Inherited Muscle Research. As a key member of our department, you will play a critical role in advancing our mission to improve the lives of Virginians affected by muscular dystrophy and other genetic nerve and muscle disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement research projects that support the translational development of therapies for muscular dystrophy.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to foster the development of novel therapeutics.
  • Support the establishment of the Muscular Dystrophy Clinical Research Networks.
  • Participate in the Muscular Dystrophy Association multidisciplinary clinic.
Requirements
  • MD or equivalent and minimum of 4 years extensive experience in muscular dystrophy research.
  • BC/BE in Neurology.
  • Strong understanding of outcome measure development in muscular dystrophy.
  • Experience participating in multicenter clinical trials.
  • Publishing record in genetic nerve and muscle disorders.
  • Proven success in collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a matrix environment within academic medicine.
  • Proven success in fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
