Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing, training, and supervising the performance of all cooks, maintaining organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of all food-related work areas and equipment, and upholding employee handbook policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Supervision: Direct, train, and supervise the performance of all cooks to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation: Maintain organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of all food-related work areas and equipment to meet state and local health regulations.
  • Team Management: Uphold employee handbook policies and standards, attend and contribute to weekly culinary meetings, and ensure that scheduled staff has reported to work.
  • Production and Prep: Prepare and assign production and prep work for all cooks, inspect for completion, and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion.
  • Communication: Communicate additions and changes to daily kitchen assignments, inform kitchen leadership and/or Front of the House Manager and service staff of any shortages or 86'd items affecting the restaurant menu(s), and conduct daily line up with all front and back of house Team Members.
  • Inventory and Ordering: Maintain proper storage of all products as specified by Health Department and the Executive Chef, minimize waste, and maintain controls in product utilization to attain forecasted food cost.
  • Performance Reviews: Assist in conducting team member annual performance reviews and perform other duties as directed, developed, or assigned by the Management team.
