The North Carolina Middle District Court is seeking an experienced and skilled administrative professional to serve as the Clerk of Court. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of organizational, procedural, and human aspects of managing a large organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the court, including managing staff, coordinating court operations, and ensuring compliance with court policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement effective administrative systems and processes to improve court efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with court staff, judges, and other stakeholders to achieve court goals and objectives.
- Manage the court's budget, including developing and implementing financial plans and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service to court users, including judges, attorneys, and the public.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible administrative experience in public service or business.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as government, public administration, or business administration.
- At least 3 years of experience in a position of substantial management responsibility at an executive level.
- Ability to lead with vision, sustain a high level of organizational excellence, articulate management priorities, and foster strong and effective working relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to listen to others' suggestions with an open mind.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience working in a federal district or bankruptcy court or state judicial system.
- Knowledge of federal court procedures and operations, office automation, and the federal court budget process.
Benefits
The North Carolina Middle District Court offers a comprehensive benefits package, including eleven paid holidays, paid vacation and sick leave, participation in the Federal Employees Retirement System, and matching and tax-deferred Thrift Savings Plan. Optional participation in Federal Health Insurance, Federal Group Life Insurance Program, Flexible Benefits Program, Federal Judiciary Long Term Care Insurance Program, and private long term disability insurance.
