Academic Space Planner

The Academic Space Planner will play a key role in analyzing and identifying solutions for campus space needs at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. This position will work closely with the Senior Vice Provost to ensure that space use is consistent with the University's strategic goals and reflects the principles of effective, functional, flexible, and efficient use of space.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct short and long-range facility space and master planning
- Perform administrative and technical work in conducting workflow analysis, space and facility usage, reporting, and data management
- Develop, maintain, and oversee an inventory of University building and space data through the use of space management technology and other appropriate methods
- Assign and classify space according to applicable standards and procedures consistent with established guidelines and/or applicable legislation
- Provide space use statistics, customized analysis, floor plans, and space data to campus departments and University officials
A Bachelor's Degree in Institutional Planning, Public Administration, Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline is required. Two years of facility and space planning experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, is also required. Preferred qualifications include five or more years of space planning experience, at least two years of project management experience, proficiency in MS Office Suite and AutoCAD, familiarity with building systems, codes, equipment, and technologies relevant to facility management, and familiarity with ADA requirements.
