Job Summary

Goodwill Industries of the Columbia, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Employment Consultant to join our team. As an Employment Consultant, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with disabilities in obtaining and maintaining community employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Engage with local employers to identify position openings and create employment partnerships.
  • Job Preparation: Prepare individuals with disabilities for successful job search through resume building, job application completion, employer visits, and mock interviewing.
  • Job Coaching: Provide hands-on support to individuals to maintain successful, long-term employment.
  • Documentation: Document work with individuals served and community employers.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Disability Services team to create and execute individualized employment plans.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2+ years of experience in employment services or a related field.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Language Proficiency: Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Other Requirements: Valid state-issued driver's license, good driving record, ability to provide own transportation, and proof of current automobile insurance.
Benefits
  • Competitive Salary: Starting rate: $23.00 per hour followed by eligibility for annual performance-based increases with maximum pay of $26.77 per hour.
  • Benefits Package: Medical, dental, and vision insurance with cost sharing of premiums for employees and dependents, company-paid life insurance, paid vacation and sick leave, and 24 hours of floating holiday annually.
