Position Summary:
Children's Therapy Center is looking for a dedicated Pediatric Rehabilitation Specialist to be part of our Early Support for Infants & Toddlers (ESIT) Team. This role focuses on serving children in our designated service area. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in early childhood development, with a strong emphasis on sensory integration and play-based therapy. Certification in Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) is advantageous. We seek a passionate individual committed to empowering children with special needs and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to conduct family-centered, strengths-based assessments and screenings to determine eligibility and contribute to comprehensive evaluation reports.
- Educate parents and caregivers about the diverse aspects of child development, considering individual, cultural, and community differences.
- Provide culturally relevant support to caregivers in their natural environments, utilizing a coaching approach that fosters the health and development of the child.
- Assist caregivers in implementing culturally relevant routines that promote the child's overall well-being and development.
- Work with families to create and implement the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) that nurtures healthy identities across various dimensions.
- Build strong relationships with families and collaborate with community members and the ESIT team to address family needs effectively.
- Actively participate in team meetings, staffing, in-services, and peer coaching/consultation.
- Embrace and integrate cultural, racial, linguistic, ethnic, and socio-economic diversity into daily practices, valuing family traditions and languages.
- Foster positive relationships between caregivers and children, promoting healthy attachments and interactions.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures related to IDEA Part B & C.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Possession of or eligibility for a PT license in the State of Washington.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate thoughts and ideas effectively through various mediums.
- Strong listening abilities, recognizing and appreciating diverse perspectives.
- Detail-oriented and organized, capable of managing multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Proactive in anticipating challenges and adapting to changes.
- Collaborative team player, valuing diverse viewpoints to achieve common goals.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity and respect for diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- Strong decision-making capabilities, considering relevant details and input from all stakeholders.
- Self-aware and committed to continuous personal and professional growth.
- Ability to order necessary orthotics, assistive devices, and adaptive equipment.
- Proficient in MS Word and Outlook.
- Valid Washington State driver's license and reliable transportation.
Work Schedule:
This position is full-time, requiring in-person engagement.
