Responsibilities:
Key

Responsibilities:
Oversee continuous 12-hour Night Shift production operations

Meet daily throughput targets and propose and implement strategies for ongoing enhancement of production equipment, processes, or operational conditions

Collaborate closely with the General Supervisor and the Scheduler in daily departmental operations

Effective communication will be crucial in everyday activities

Achieve manufacturing outcomes by setting job expectations; planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results; coaching, counseling, and managing employee performance; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures

Essential Functions:

Safety:
Responsible for monitoring and training on the unique hazards within the department; additionally, maintain a safe workplace by adhering to company safety policies, including monthly safety inspections, observations, compliance with plant rules, and reporting potential hazards to management and maintenance for resolution

Manage material flow in and out of the area

Advise management on enhancements that would improve job function, safety, quality, and/or productivity

Proficient computer skills:
PowerPoint, Excel, ADP, AS400, etc.

Drive Lean and 6S improvements within the department and uphold existing requirements.

Ensure workflow by monitoring process steps, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, overseeing personnel and resources, analyzing methods, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures and systems, facilitating corrections to process control point malfunctions, and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments

Complete production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel, achieving work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, adjusting schedules, and resolving issues

Create and revise systems and procedures by evaluating operating practices, record-keeping systems, control forms, and budgetary and personnel needs; implementing changes

Maintain a collaborative relationship with the union by adhering to the terms of the collective bargaining agreement

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent

Minimum of an Associate Degree preferred along with 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting

Previous supervisory or equivalent experience is advantageous

Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, Kaizen, 6S, and STOP would be a definite asset
