Maintenance Specialist II

This position performs routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on plumbing, HVAC, steam, air conditioning, electrical, and mechanical equipment at various state properties, including the State Capitol, Capitol Extension, Capitol Visitor's Center, Capitol Grounds, the Texas Governor's Mansion, Texas State Cemetery, and Bullock Texas State History Museum. The ideal candidate will work under moderate supervision, using sound judgment and maintaining a professional, respectful, and service-oriented focus when interacting with internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on plumbing, HVAC, steam, air conditioning, electrical, and mechanical equipment
Work as part of a team focused on a service company approach to building maintenance
Display sound judgment and maintain a professional, respectful, and service-oriented focus when interacting with internal and external customers
Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
2+ years of experience in maintenance and repair
Ability to work extended hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
Ability to pass a thorough criminal background check
Working Conditions:
Work in a fast-paced environment with moderate supervision
May be exposed to inclement or harsh weather conditions
Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
