About the Position:

As a Sustainability Operations Specialist at CBRE, you will play a crucial role in managing energy optimization initiatives and programs for a prominent financial institution.

Your primary focus will be on identifying, designing, and supervising capital projects and energy-saving measures, ensuring accurate data capture and tracking to report on energy and operational efficiencies.

This position is part of the Energy and Sustainability division, dedicated to the development and execution of environmental and social sustainability initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement strategies and programs to achieve client objectives.
  • Analyze energy consumption and create projects and conservation strategies to enhance efficiency.
  • Conduct site evaluations for energy consultations and assessments to uncover efficiency opportunities and quantify their benefits.
  • Interpret data and prepare documentation to support strategic decisions for energy initiatives.
  • Develop projects by defining scope, soliciting quotes, performing savings analyses, and securing project approvals.
  • Oversee project execution, commissioning, and documentation/end-user training.
  • Monitor and report on key aspects of energy capital project management, including budget, schedule, procurement, quality, and commissioning.
  • Regularly analyze energy performance across buildings and drive improvements for underperforming assets.
  • Manage and enhance the smart building initiative, including establishing standards, providing training, and tracking/reporting progress.
  • Incorporate innovative processes and technologies into existing operations.
  • Communicate energy plans and performance through formal presentations to clients and CBRE leadership.
  • Collaborate closely with other CBRE departments such as Facilities Management and Project Management.
  • Ensure adherence to global energy and sustainability standards.
  • Serve as the Energy Subject Matter Expert for the account.

Qualifications:

All candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship. The ideal candidate should be willing to travel periodically (up to 25%).

A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, along with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of education and experience will be considered.

Preferred certifications include AEE Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and LEED AP or equivalent.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

Proficiency in presenting information effectively to various audiences, including vendors, building engineers, division managers, and senior leadership, is required.

Intermediate knowledge of financial principles is necessary, along with the ability to conduct financial, energy, and carbon savings analyses.

Experience with lighting technologies, renewable energy solutions, and mechanical systems is advantageous.

Proficiency in energy modeling software and Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, is expected.
