Optical Manufacturing Team Supervisor

The role is responsible for managing a team of workers involved in the production of optical components or systems by executing the following responsibilities.

This position may require occasional duties at various company locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs a group of staff and organizes work priorities.
  • Interprets and adheres to plans, material lists, and guidelines, assigning tasks effectively.
  • Completes all standard production responsibilities and necessary documentation promptly.
  • Addresses specific customization requests.
  • Organizes, leads, and trains team members to ensure product completion within set guidelines and timelines.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards, including contributing to employee discipline and documentation.
  • Ensures that management requirements are met and sustained.
  • Participates in the interview process as necessary.
  • Informs planners of potential delays.

In addition to the essential functions and duties listed above, all positions are also responsible for:

  • Meeting company standards regarding the quantity and quality of work performed consistently, executing all tasks in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Following company policies, procedures, and directives related to workplace behavior while fulfilling job responsibilities.

The company reserves the right to modify or assign additional duties to this position.

Compensation:

Hourly Pay Rate Range: $28.00 to $35.00 per hour


Physical Requirements:

Employees must be able to grasp, manipulate, or assemble small parts and components. The work may involve prolonged periods of standing or sitting and performing repetitive tasks. Occasionally, employees may exert up to 10 lbs. of force.

Employees may encounter substances such as acetone and epoxy, and work areas may be noisy. Proper protective clothing and equipment, including booties, glasses, and gloves, must be worn when entering and exiting the work area.


Experience:

1-5 years of supervisory experience in an industrial environment.


Education:

High School diploma or equivalent.


Required Skills:

Ability to read and communicate effectively in English, basic math skills, and proficiency in computer usage.

Knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical repair practices.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Advanced operational knowledge.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
