About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data + Automation Leader to join our team at Gensler. As a key member of our design technology team, you will be responsible for driving the firm's digital transformation of our creative and project delivery practices throughout the globe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and implement innovative technology solutions with a strong focus on data-driven approaches, automation, and computational BIM workflows.
  • Lead strategic initiatives to advance data-driven approaches and establish highly sophisticated, scalable, and integrated digital workflows.
  • Create bespoke computational solutions/code to address challenges for specific projects and/or to prototype new technology opportunities.
  • Support and drive the development and adoption of current and future design technology Gensler IP platforms.
  • Collaborate and partner with DT-colleagues to research emerging technologies, define use-cases, and develop highly-refined prototypes in alignment with business priorities and goals.
  • Evaluate practice + client + project use-cases/needs and synthesize into opportunities that improve data quality and availability from our design models.
  • Engage with practitioners and other design technology leaders to understand project and practice area needs and synthesize into build vs. buy strategies.
  • Assist in the design and development of interactive PowerBI Dashboards and tools supporting next-gen data-driven design and client engagement workflows.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience across all project phases, including various project typologies and scales, with a strong command of the design process.
  • Documented progressive growth and experience in leading/supporting Design Technology and innovative framework/workflows in project delivery.
  • Articulate communicator with strong storytelling ability to push new innovative concepts and ideas in a highly creative culture.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and drive consensus through relationship building and the ability to win the trust of teammates and project teams.
  • Insatiable curiosity about new topics and challenges.
  • Documented results in developed methods/tools adoption at scale and with global perspective.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop learning material, deliver effective training, and provide ongoing education and technological support to project teams.
  • Expert proficiency in design authoring platforms Rhino and Revit, including advanced implementations across the project's lifecycle.
  • Proficiency with computational/generative design platforms and visual scripting/programming such as Dynamo and Grasshopper, with examples of sophisticated implementations.
  • Working knowledge of AEC cloud-based products/API capabilities such as Autodesk Platform Services and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Demonstrated experience with PowerBI – Dashboard Design, Data Processing, Query Creation.
  • Experience working with SQL, JSON, and other database/data formats.
  • Basic knowledge of the Revit API capabilities and limitations.
  • Proficiency with advanced geometry translations/interoperability pipelines is a plus.
  • Experience building and deploying Dynamo plugins with C# and/or Python is a plus.
  • Experience as a Product Owner/Product Manager in AEC is a plus.
