Job Description

PowerFlex, a leading provider of intelligent onsite energy solutions, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Performance Engineer - Power Intern to join our team. As a Performance Engineer - Power Intern, you will be responsible for assisting the Execution team with system evaluations, troubleshooting, and documentation of results.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and test commercial scale solar, storage, and EV charging projects after energization
  • Assist with documentation of current processes and procedures for commissioning activities
  • Perform production analysis for PV systems and BESS systems
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors for troubleshooting efforts
  • Communicate with equipment vendors to resolve issues
  • Manage user access to various data acquisition and inverter monitoring portals
  • Configure online monitoring portals based on project information
  • Track and analyze project data, including failure rates and portfolio performance

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering or Science
  • Available to work at least 20 hours/week
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Excel, energy simulation experience a plus
  • Basic understanding of photovoltaic systems and electrical components

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20-$25 hourly. This position is eligible for PowerFlex's comprehensive Health and Welfare plans, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) retirement plan, and paid time off. The total compensation for this position may include an annual performance bonus.

Working Conditions

Approximately 90% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers, telephones, and general office equipment. Possibly 10% of the time is spent traveling to conferences or meetings or field traveling to project sites.
