Key Responsibilities of a Performance Test Engineer:
In the capacity of a Performance Test Engineer, your primary focus will be to guarantee the reliability and scalability of our software solutions through rigorous performance testing. A proficient Performance Test Engineer at InvestCloud collaborates with various teams to design and implement performance tests, evaluate outcomes, and drive enhancements.
Contributions You Will Make:
Performance Testing
- Formulate and execute performance testing strategies aligned with system and application specifications.
- Conduct various testing types including load, stress, volume, concurrency, and endurance testing.
- Detect performance limitations and issues, providing actionable recommendations based on your analyses.
Test Automation
- Develop automated scripts for performance testing.
- Incorporate tests into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) workflows.
Collaboration
- Engage with cross-functional teams to comprehend requirements.
- Offer insights aimed at performance enhancements.
Reporting and Analysis
- Produce detailed test reports.
- Work alongside developers to address and resolve issues.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in performance testing.
- Strong understanding of the relationship between software and the hardware it operates on, particularly regarding performance impacts.
- Familiarity with performance testing tools, such as Microfocus LoadRunner and/or Performance Center.
- Proficient in script development using various protocols offered by LoadRunner, especially Web/Http, Web Services, and RTE.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies.
- Experience with Unix, Linux, or similar operating systems.
- Knowledge of Windows-based systems.
- Familiarity with relational database management.
- Experience with performance monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Splunk, and Dynatrace.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of additional tools like JMeter is advantageous.
- Experience in script development (e.g., Korn shell, C shell, Awk, Perl, PowerShell, etc.) is desirable.
- Background in investment management or financial services is preferred.
