Position Summary

Under the guidance of the Sanitation Lead, the seasonal sanitation technician will undertake essential daily and weekly cleaning tasks within the facility. This role requires a proactive approach to maintain operational efficiency and to promptly report any issues to management. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to work autonomously, interpret safety protocols, and adhere to established procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute cleaning and sanitization of processing and packaging equipment, as well as floors, walls, ceilings, and workspaces.
  • Prepare and handle cleaning agents, sanitizers, and chemical solutions.
  • Disassemble, sanitize, and reassemble food processing machinery.
  • Manage waste disposal both inside and outside the facility.
  • Perform floor maintenance, including sweeping, mopping, and squeegeeing.
  • Maintain cleanliness in receiving areas and manage waste disposal.
  • Operate forklifts for waste management tasks.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1-3 months of experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and sanitation practices.

Essential Skills

  • Basic mathematical proficiency.
  • Strong reading comprehension.
  • Effective time management.
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices and food safety protocols.

Required Abilities

  • Capability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Effective oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety and operational guidelines.

Work Environment

This position involves frequent exposure to moving mechanical components and airborne particles, with occasional exposure to varying temperatures. The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to loud.
