Role Summary
In this position, reporting directly to the Wet Prep Lead, the Receiving Operations Specialist will oversee the tracking, inspection, and documentation of raw materials entering the processing facility. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure seamless operations and immediate reporting of any discrepancies to management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, promptly notifying management of any product quality issues.
  • Accurately log weight and other relevant data into the electronic tracking system.
  • Unload holding bins to facilitate the processing of onions.
  • Ensure the removal of foreign materials from the conveyor belt before product entry into the plant.
  • Assist with dryer cleanups and routine cleaning tasks.
  • Continuously monitor machinery to ensure proper operation, reporting any malfunctions to the lead or supervisor.
  • Adjust and report any issues with optical sorting equipment.
  • Maintain organization of tools, hoses, and equipment when not in use.
  • Ensure cleanliness of all work areas and adherence to cleaning schedules for equipment.
  • Operate lift trucks for the emptying and storage of bins.
  • Support maintenance staff as required.
  • Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures and Lockout/Tagout protocols.
  • Report any unsafe practices or concerns to management without delay.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 3-6 months of experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, lift, carry, push, and pull up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 60 pounds.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and sanitation practices.
  • Forklift certification is required.

Work Environment
In this role, employees may frequently encounter moving mechanical parts and airborne particles, with occasional exposure to heights, cold, and heat. The noise level in the work environment can range from moderate to loud.
