OFI is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Receiving Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient receipt and processing of raw materials into our facility.
Key Responsibilities- Receiving and Inspection: Unload trucks and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, notifying leadership of any product quality changes.
- Data Entry and Tracking: Accurately record weight and other pertinent information into our electronic system.
- Material Handling: Unload holding bins to feed materials into the processing facility, ensuring foreign material is removed from the conveyor belt prior to entering the plant.
- Cleanliness and Maintenance: Assist in dryer cleanups and daily cleanings, keeping tools, hoses, and equipment hung up and stored properly when not in use.
- Machinery Monitoring: Frequently monitor machinery to ensure it is operating properly, notifying lead/supervisor of any malfunctions.
- Optic Sorter Maintenance: Monitor, adjust, and report any malfunctions with optic sorters.
- Equipment Operation: Operate the lift truck to empty and store bins, assisting maintenance personnel as needed.
- Compliance and Safety: Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and Lock out/Tag out procedures, reporting any unsafe acts or issues to management immediately.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalency preferred.
- Experience: 3-6 months experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred.
- Physical Demands: Frequently stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull up to 20 pounds; occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of quality standards and sanitation procedures, basic mathematical skills, basic computer skills, reading comprehension, time management, critical thinking, and good manufacturing procedures.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles, occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; moderate to extreme cold; moderate heat. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
