Overview
At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Retail Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing all business functions within their designated store, ensuring the achievement of positive outcomes.

This position requires proficiency across all store departments, both perishable and non-perishable, to guarantee that the team effectively implements all programs and processes aimed at enhancing sales and operational efficiency.

The Retail Operations Supervisor is responsible for inspiring and motivating a team dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service in a dynamic and welcoming environment, while adhering to company safety, labeling, health, and weights and measures standards. Additionally, this role entails managing the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.

Key Responsibilities
• Cultivate a positive store culture by exemplifying leadership behaviors that align with Sprouts' core values.
• Develop the store leadership team to provide an outstanding customer experience by engaging and motivating team members.
• Lead a team of approximately ten individuals, including all Department Managers and Receivers, with respect, integrity, and care.
• Encourage and nurture the management team by actively embracing and modeling Sprouts' leadership behaviors.
• Celebrate store achievements and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Enhance customer satisfaction by training team members to exceed customer expectations consistently.

• Exhibit advanced product knowledge while assisting customers and training store personnel.
• Communicate expectations, policy updates, new initiatives, and product information effectively.

• Provide and receive constructive feedback to foster effective communication and collaboration among store teams and support partners.

• Address emergencies, crises, and equipment failures confidently and promptly, resolving issues with urgency.
• Manage P&L ownership by overseeing inventory, labor, and expenses to meet targets relative to sales.

• Ensure compliance with all safety and food safety regulations, as evaluated through audits.

• Identify safety, security, and loss prevention concerns, collaborating with the BPS team for resolution.

• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and company regulations and standards, maintaining a safe and clean work environment for both employees and customers.

• Drive sales growth and enhance store experience by anchoring on Educate and Enrich standards, including maintaining optimal store conditions and product knowledge.

• Oversee inventory management processes, including ordering, receiving, and stocking merchandise, with a focus on sanitation and code dates.

• Manage invoicing from distribution centers and vendors, addressing discrepancies as necessary.
• Supervise Receivers and ensure backroom organization, cleanliness, and safety.

• Assist in building and maintaining displays on the sales floor in accordance with company standards.

• Verify product freshness, labeling, and pricing accuracy, while overseeing price changes and staying updated on sale prices.

Qualifications
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in business management, marketing, retailing, or a related field is preferred.
• 1-3 years of retail experience or a suitable combination of education and experience.
• Proven success in leading operations for both perishable and non-perishable departments, including profit and loss management, safety, staffing, and training.

• Strong professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and human resources software.
• Flexibility to work a schedule that adapts to business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Food Safety certification is required.

• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and perform physical tasks such as pushing and pulling merchandise throughout the day.

• Stand on hard surfaces continuously, walk up to 2 miles, and reach for items at various heights.

• Adhere to PPE requirements, including non-slip shoes and gloves as necessary.
