Job Overview

The Event Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the Banquet Department's daily functions, ensuring exceptional service and adherence to safety standards. This position requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability on weekends and holidays to align with the operational needs of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to all operational protocols within the Banquet Department.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food and beverage safety and quality, in line with industry specifications.
  • Develop, implement, and uphold training programs and procedures to promote safe working conditions.
  • Contribute to the formulation of financial strategies for the Banquet Department that align with the overall goals of the property.
  • Address and resolve guest inquiries and concerns related to banquet services.
  • Facilitate effective communication among the General Manager, Department Managers, Supervisors, and staff.
  • Assist in managing employee performance to foster a productive and positive work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience in banquet operations; supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting safety regulations, operational guidelines, and procedural documents.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with guests, management, and colleagues.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college education is preferred.
  • Completion of ServSafe and/or food safety training.
  • Training in alcohol awareness (e.g., TIPS) is preferred.
  • Ability to produce routine reports and correspondence.
  • Competence in performing mathematical calculations and utilizing measurement tools.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Familiarity with local attractions and activities suitable for guests.
