Position Overview
This role encompasses the holistic management of existing commercial partnerships while actively pursuing new business opportunities with designated clients and targeted prospects.

While the specifics may vary by market, typical clients generally include those with annual revenues exceeding $15 million.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with assigned clients and targeted prospects to secure new business.
  • Act as the primary consultant for a diverse and intricate portfolio of commercial relationships, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaborate with product partners to promote a comprehensive array of products and services.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of the portfolio to mitigate risk and enhance profitability.
  • Facilitate credit requests, including loan structuring, negotiation/pricing, collateral management, ensuring proper loan documentation, and assessing industry/credit risk.
  • Resolve customer issues by engaging product specialists as necessary.
  • Participate in community and business events to foster a positive image for the bank and establish referral networks.
  • Ensure adherence to all bank policies, procedures, regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Manage a portfolio of commercial relationships characterized by:
    • Average loan portfolio outstanding of $25 million to $50 million.
    • Average deposit portfolio of $10 million to $25 million.
    • Annual contribution ranging from $250 million to $500 million.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Fundamental knowledge of the complete range of commercial products, credit policies, procedures, and terminology.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and compliance with Commerce Bank’s driving record standards; ongoing employment may depend on meeting all driving criteria.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize calling activities and strategies effectively.
  • Goal-oriented with robust sales capabilities.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic credit analysis proficiency.
  • Excellent persuasive and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated and organized individual with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Inquisitive, adaptable, and a strong team player with outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Education & Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A minimum of 1 year of experience in commercial banking is also required.
