Position Summary
In this role, you will lead, manage, and enhance the Sanitation and Pest Control initiatives for our facility. You will be tasked with standardizing and continuously improving sanitation, pest control, and associated systems to support our operations. This position will involve managing a network of relationships within Quality, Production, and Supply Chain, while also influencing senior management regarding strategic alignment, annual goals, and project planning.

This role will oversee a team of 25 skilled hourly associates, working around the clock to deliver sanitation services within a 320,000 square foot fresh bakery.

Key Responsibilities
  • 35% - Develop, implement, and consistently enhance comprehensive sanitation, environmental monitoring (EMP), and pest control programs.
  • 25% - Select, develop, and supervise a team of skilled hourly associates, ensuring coverage 24/7.
  • 15% - Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, Maintenance, and Sanitation to establish functional sanitation objectives and plant metrics.
  • 15% - Work with cross-functional teams to communicate and ensure compliance with sanitation policies, expectations, and requirements.
  • 10% - Cultivate sanitation leads within the department to effectively manage and audit cleaning activities and systems, fostering future leaders through succession planning and growth opportunities.
Job Complexity
  • Formulate sanitation, EMP, and pest control strategies tailored to a fresh bakery environment in a sub-tropical region with year-round infestation risks.
  • Standardize the Master Sanitation Schedule and develop control plans for insects, rodents, birds, and reptiles.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to Quality, Sanitation, EMP, and Pest Control.
  • Provide best practice frameworks for all sanitation, pest control, regulatory, and quality/food safety programs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing/sanitation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in bakery or food science is advantageous.
  • Expertise in Master Sanitation practices.
  • Strong supervisory skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards (FDA, SQF, BRC, AIB).
  • Ability to evaluate, develop, and implement Master Sanitation schedules and Pest Control programs.
  • Possess credentials necessary for obtaining pesticide application licenses.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interface with departmental management and Corporate Quality Assurance personnel.
  • Proficient in navigating SAP applications, budget spreadsheets, and general Microsoft systems.
Compensation and Benefits
The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between $72,900 and $117,300. Individual base pay is influenced by work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total compensation may include other forms of remuneration. Additionally, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k, and wellness benefits starting on the first day of employment.
