We collaborate with a select network of wholesale brokers and managing general underwriters to deliver exceptional service across the United States.

We are currently seeking a Healthcare Risk Underwriter to join our dynamic team.

This position offers a hybrid work environment.

Position Overview

The Underwriter is responsible for a comprehensive range of underwriting and marketing activities, showcasing expertise in both client relationship management and technical underwriting.

Key underwriting responsibilities include assessing and evaluating intricate risks and exposures presented by Excess and Surplus Lines brokers, utilizing a solid understanding of pricing structures, terms, and conditions in primary and excess medical malpractice insurance.

Working collaboratively with a team of professionals, the Underwriter leverages company resources to provide outstanding service to our valued clients.

The primary objective is to cultivate profitable business by implementing competitive pricing strategies and policy frameworks while identifying opportunities that align with our profit goals.


Key Responsibilities:

Risk Assessment:

The Underwriter conducts thorough research and analysis of complex risks and exposures, employing critical thinking to develop competitive and sound proposals.

Each team member contributes to discussions on account opportunities and knowledge sharing, managing a steady flow of individual risk submissions where prompt responses are crucial for client satisfaction.

The Underwriter is adept at applying rates, forms, pricing structures, and terms, recognizing the significant impact of each decision on building a profitable portfolio.



Client Relationship Management:
The Underwriter focuses on enhancing existing relationships with E&S broker clients.

By offering a diverse range of alternatives and solutions, he/she effectively engages and influences clients at all levels.

With support from the Unit Manager, the Underwriter formulates strategies to expand opportunities through well-crafted client development plans and sets achievable marketing objectives.

The Underwriter employs strong negotiation skills to secure optimal financial outcomes for the company.

Professional Development:
The Underwriter actively pursues opportunities to enhance industry knowledge by participating in company-sponsored underwriting seminars and relevant external courses.

Additional Contributions:

The Underwriter seeks to support underwriting and marketing initiatives for the Medical Professional unit, including involvement in new product development and cross-training with other teams.

This may also involve mentoring less experienced underwriters and serving as a resource for clients seeking detailed information about our coverage options.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of two years of experience in the insurance industry

Compensation
