Role Overview

Underwriting Analysis:
The Underwriter conducts in-depth research and analysis of complex risks and exposures, utilizing critical thinking skills to craft competitive and sound proposals.
Each team member contributes to a collaborative environment where discussions about account opportunities and knowledge sharing are integral to our daily operations, managing a steady flow of individual risk submissions with a focus on prompt responses for clients.
Familiarity with the application of rates, forms, pricing structures, and terms is crucial, as each decision directly influences the development of a profitable book of business.
Relationship Development:
The Underwriter prioritizes the enhancement of existing E&S broker client relationships.
By offering a creative array of alternatives and solutions, the Underwriter is adept at connecting with and influencing clients at all levels.
With support from the Unit Manager, the Underwriter formulates strategies to expand opportunities through well-crafted client development plans and the achievement of marketing objectives.
Strong negotiation skills are essential to secure optimal financial outcomes for the company.
Continuous Learning:
The Underwriter actively engages in expanding their knowledge of industry policies, principles, and emerging exposures by participating in company-sponsored underwriting seminars and relevant external courses.
Additional Activities:
The Underwriter seeks opportunities to support underwriting and marketing initiatives for the Medical Professional unit, including involvement in new product development, cross-training with other units, and participation in special client events.
This may also involve mentoring less experienced underwriters or colleagues and serving as a resource for clients requiring comprehensive information about our coverage offerings.
