Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with agents and brokers to collect essential data and negotiate policy terms.
  • Foster and sustain strong relationships with clients, underwriting assistants, and other relevant parties.
  • Stay informed on industry developments and regulatory updates to ensure adherence to underwriting standards and best practices.
  • Review and authorize policy modifications, renewals, and cancellations in line with company protocols.
  • Offer guidance and assistance to underwriting assistants and team members as required.
  • Contribute to the formulation of underwriting strategies and initiatives aimed at enhancing profitability and expansion.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related discipline.
  • 1-3 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance products, policies, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate risk and make informed underwriting choices.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting software.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
