We are looking for a proficient Commercial Risk Assessor to become an integral part of our team. In this role, you will be essential in evaluating risks and ensuring the financial viability of the commercial insurance portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess commercial insurance applications to determine risk acceptability and suitable coverage levels.
  • Analyze financial documents, loss history, and other pertinent data to evaluate risk factors and pricing considerations.
  • Collaborate with agents and brokers to collect necessary information and negotiate terms and conditions.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, underwriting assistants, and other stakeholders.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and best practices.
  • Review and authorize policy endorsements, renewals, and cancellations in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to underwriting assistants and other team members as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting.
  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, policies, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical abilities to assess risk and make informed underwriting decisions.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
