Patient Services Coordinator

The Patient Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in facilitating interactions between clients, healthcare professionals, and the administrative team. This position is dedicated to providing accurate, timely, and responsive information to ensure optimal patient care on a daily basis.
Work ScheduleThis is a Full-Time position, operating Monday through Friday. There are no night shifts, weekend duties, or observed holidays.

The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Administrative Duties- Schedule patient appointments via phone or in-person, ensuring adherence to scheduling protocols.
- Greet patients upon arrival and facilitate their check-in process, which includes verifying personal and insurance information.
- Process insurance cards and photo identification, entering necessary data into the practice management system for new patients.
- Obtain required consents and referrals, attaching them to patient records appropriately.
- Guide patients to necessary facilities for urinalysis as needed.
- At the conclusion of appointments, assist with patient check-out, providing clinical summaries and scheduling follow-up visits.
- Manage incoming calls, directing inquiries and appointment requests to the appropriate staff members.
- Ensure patients have a private space for discussions regarding medical records or results.
- Perform bookkeeping tasks, including managing credits and collections, preparing financial statements, and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Balance cash and credit card receipts at the end of each clinic day.
- Collect co-pays and outstanding patient balances.
- Verify insurance coverage and assess patient balances for collection.
- Prepare invoices and manage payments for medical records.
Educational Requirements:
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent (GED); or a combination of education and experience.
- Preferred: One-year certificate from a college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
- Three to six months of related experience and/or training is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
This position does not require any specific licenses or certifications.
