Position Overview

Role Summary:

The Behavioral Support Technician (BST) plays a crucial role in creating a secure and effective therapeutic learning atmosphere for children, aligned with the mission and values of Behaven Kids.

Compensation Package:

  • Hourly rate: $29
  • Flexible scheduling with 30+ hours weekly, including morning and evening shifts, as well as weekend options.
  • Regular performance evaluations

  • Paid training and examination fees for up to two attempts
  • Reimbursement for travel mileage when necessary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct therapeutic interventions for children with autism, utilizing discrete trial training to enhance language, social interaction, and self-care skills.
  • Maintain a safe and structured educational setting.
  • Engage with children in a professional and positive manner.
  • Apply the Behaven Kids care model and educational framework.
  • Execute treatment objectives and goals.
  • Document and update children's records and progress.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and supervisors regarding treatment advancements and concerns.
  • Carry out additional tasks as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum age of nineteen years.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to work in an active environment and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Preference for candidates with existing RBT certification.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma (mandatory).
  • Certified Registered Behavior Technician in good standing with the BACB (preferred).
  • Three years of experience in a preschool or daycare environment (required).
  • Associate degree in early childhood education or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience working with children diagnosed with autism or other developmental challenges (preferred).
