Job Title: Per-diem Direct Support Professionals-Respite Center

Benhaven Respite Center is seeking dedicated and compassionate Per Diem Direct Support Professionals to provide exceptional care and support to youth ages 8-21 with disabilities in a home-like setting.

Job Summary:

We are looking for individuals who can build strong relationships with our guests and their families, providing a safe, enjoyable, and interactive experience while in respite care. As a Per Diem Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for implementing flexible activity schedules, facilitating friendships among guests, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals in our care.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with guests and their families.
  • Implement a flexible activity schedule that meets the needs and interests of each guest.
  • Facilitate friendships among guests and promote a sense of community.
  • Implement positive behavioral approaches that align with each guest's behavior program.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all guests, including assisting with activities of daily living.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, including the care and cleaning of personal items brought to the respite center.
  • Complete required reports using THERAP, ready by shift change.
  • Collaborate with the Respite Center manager and staff to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
  • Obtain and maintain required training, certifications, and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and availability to work on short notice.
