Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Small Dollar Loan Specialist to join our team at Communities Unlimited, Inc. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and communities by providing access to affordable financial services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate loan applications and determine eligibility and repayment capacity
  • Interview loan applicants to assess creditworthiness and provide customer service
  • Monitor loan payments and maintain accurate records
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote the Nuestra Casa Small Dollar Loan Program
  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to achieve program goals
Requirements
  • High school diploma required; associate degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in credit/lending at a financial institution
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of credit, lending concepts, and practices
  • Excellent analytical, accuracy, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a leadership position in non-profit or community-based work
  • Knowledge of the collections process and compliance with the Fair Debt Collections Practice Act and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Regulation
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats
