We are seeking a highly skilled Loan Specialist to join our team at Communities Unlimited, Inc. in Brownsville, TX. As a Loan Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and servicing consumer loans, interviewing loan applicants, and evaluating loan applications and creditworthiness.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and service consumer loans, including interviewing loan applicants and evaluating loan applications and creditworthiness.
- Provide excellent customer service to ensure borrowers' questions are answered and needs are met.
- Maintain accurate and thorough records, and follow all applicable organizational, state and federal policies and regulations.
- Travel throughout assigned Colonias in S Texas to provide onsite events and assistance to the community.
- High school diploma required; minimum of an associate degree in accounting, business or related field and at least 1 year of experience underwriting and/or servicing loans.
- Experience in a leadership position in non-profit or community-based work a plus.
- Must be English / Spanish Bi-Lingual.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle for travel.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in credit/lending at a financial institution.
- Knowledge of fundamentals of credit, lending concepts and practices.
- Demonstrated analytical, accuracy and problem-solving skills.
