Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team at Advocate Health. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for operating CT equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, obtaining medical history from patients, and preparing and administering contrast media under the direction of a Radiologist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate CT equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, including basic and intermediate imaging processing.
  • Obtain medical history from patients and compare requisitions to physicians' orders to ensure exam accuracy.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media under the direction of a Radiologist.
  • Position patients and select proper scanning factors to attain the appropriate images.
  • Provide radiation protection and safety in accordance with regulatory agencies.
  • Post-process images as directed and accurately identify and label images.
  • Prepare and maintain records in accordance with various regulatory agencies.
  • Identify equipment performance issues and perform equipment quality assurance tests and calibration procedures.
  • Perform various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling.

Requirements:

  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Computed Tomography (CT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 18 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and basic radiation safety.
  • Competent in IV and venipuncture.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Intermediate computer skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist and 20 lbs. over the head.
  • Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
  • Must have clear speech, vision, and hearing.
