Job Summary:
As a Mental Health Collaborative Care Clinician, you will work under the supervision of a licensed clinical professional to provide a wide range of clinical psychosocial services for adult and child members in a primary or specialty care setting. Your responsibilities will include evaluating psychosocial assets and deficits, providing short-term counseling, education, advocacy, and resource brokering to enable and maintain the greatest level of independence. You will also assess, triage, diagnose, treat, and provide crisis intervention services for members with mental health and addiction needs. Additionally, you will consult with care teams, primary or specialty care providers, and health educators on matters related to mental health, addiction, health psychology, and behavioral medicine.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with supervisors and care teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for members.
  • Provide education and support to members and their families on treatment options, interventions, and adherence to treatment plans.
  • Utilize resources from public and private agencies and community organizations to meet the needs of members' treatment.
  • Participate in departmental program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Report safety concerns to mandated reporting agencies.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care and treatment programs for members with acute or chronic mental or addiction illness.
  • Instruct and counsel patients and their families on compliance with treatment plans, including prescribed therapeutic regimens and adherence to medication regimens.
  • Administer specialized therapeutic interventions as appropriate.
  • Complete all documentation of members' treatment and progress in accordance with Kaiser Permanente, state, and NCQA regulations.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Social Work, Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field required from an accredited college or university.

Additional Requirements:
  • Prior completion of a practicum or internship in a clinical setting.
  • Full licensure expected within 3-4 years of hire.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of social service agencies, state regulations, and professional board standards related to member treatment, patient rights, and member/patient confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of Evidence-Based Practice, person-in-environment theory, and/or psychotherapy research methods.
  • Knowledge of the bio-psycho-social functions that contribute to mental health.
  • Accuracy in assessing and/or diagnosing patients and developing effective treatment plans.
  • Professional maturity and ethical integrity necessary for assuming professional responsibilities.
  • Commitment to quality of service, teamwork, and participation in a highly interactive multidisciplinary clinic.
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks/objectives in a timely manner.
