Position Overview:
As a Project Engineer, you will oversee and manage all engineering and administrative functions at the project level. You will collaborate with field operations to ensure effective communication and implementation of information.

Reporting Structure:
This position reports to the Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, or Project Executive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of contract documents, including plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Lead and mentor the engineering team, providing input on performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, ethics, and regulatory standards at all times.
  • Facilitate communication among all project team members.
  • Establish procedures for information flow with design professionals, consultants, owners, and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with Preconstruction, Estimating, and Purchasing teams to develop project budgets and Guaranteed Maximum Prices (GMP).
  • Conduct detailed reviews of construction documents for constructability and quality assurance.
  • Participate in the preparation of material recommendations and cost estimates.
  • Create a comprehensive list of contract items necessary for project execution.
  • Develop procurement schedules to ensure timely acquisition of materials and compliance with project timelines.
  • Manage the financial aspects of the project, including status reporting and financial accuracy.
  • Organize and document all job meetings and coordination sessions.
  • Oversee the subcontract change order process, including negotiations and approvals.
  • Handle project close-out processes, including securing warranties and final payments.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree along with a minimum of eight years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Proficiency in accounting principles, cost control, estimating, and construction techniques is essential. Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office, are necessary, and familiarity with project management software is advantageous. The ability to implement advanced technologies such as Building Information Models (BIM) is preferred. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills are critical for success in this role.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to navigate construction sites, including climbing stairs and ladders, and performing physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:
Employees will regularly work on-site at construction locations, which may involve exposure to various environmental conditions and noise levels.
