Position: Automation Controls Specialist
Job Overview
- In this role, you will dedicate approximately 50% of your time to the development of control systems, which includes both enhancing existing systems and creating new ones.
- Another 20% of your responsibilities will involve ensuring the operational efficiency of automation lines, which includes troubleshooting machinery and providing customer support.
- Your tasks will also encompass the creation of new schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), software programs, and applications.
- Expertise in PLC and HMI development is essential, with a focus on Allen Bradley systems.
- This position may require up to 20% travel for system start-ups, typically lasting about a week per trip.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in controls engineering
- Experience in PLC programming
- Knowledge of system integration
- Ability to program from the ground up
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role that necessitates a combination of on-site presence in Sandusky, Ohio, and remote work.
Work Setting
- Hybrid model: 2 days working from home and 3 days on-site. During initial training and ramp-up phases, on-site presence is mandatory. The schedule may vary based on business requirements.
- Travel commitments: Approximately 20% of the year, primarily for start-ups, with an average of 6-8 trips annually. Most travel will be within the eastern U.S. or New England, with occasional trips to Canada.
- Travel expenses will be managed by the company, with reimbursement for meals and tolls through the established T&E system.
