Position Overview: As a Project Engineer, you will oversee and direct all engineering and administrative functions at the project level. You will collaborate with field operations to ensure effective communication and implementation of information.

Reporting Structure: Reports to Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, or Project Executive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of contract documents, including plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Lead and mentor the engineering team, providing input on performance evaluations.
  • Uphold safety, ethics, and compliance standards consistently.
  • Facilitate communication among all project team members.
  • Establish procedures for information flow with design professionals, consultants, owners, and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with Preconstruction, Estimating, and Purchasing teams to develop project budgets and lead preconstruction efforts.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of construction documents for constructability and quality assurance.
  • Participate in the preparation of studies, material recommendations, and cost estimates.
  • Create detailed lists of contract items and develop scope of work documents for bidding.
  • Prepare procurement schedules to ensure timely acquisition of materials and compliance with construction timelines.
  • Manage the financial aspects of the project, including status reports and financial accuracy.
  • Organize and document all job meetings and coordination sessions.
  • Oversee the subcontract change order process, including negotiations and approvals.
  • Manage project close-out procedures, ensuring all warranties and final payments are secured.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of eight years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in accounting principles, cost control, estimating, scheduling, and engineering principles is essential. Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite, are required. Familiarity with project management software is advantageous. Ability to implement innovative technologies, such as Building Information Models (BIM), is preferred. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with demonstrated leadership abilities, are crucial.

Physical Requirements: This role necessitates the physical capability to navigate construction sites, including climbing stairs and ladders, and the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment: The position involves regular on-site work at construction locations, where exposure to various environmental conditions and noise levels is expected.
