Position Overview

Peraton is seeking a Knowledge and Process Manager to support the Department of State's Bureau of Diplomatic Security, specifically within the Directorate of Cyber and Technology Security, Office of Cyber Monitoring and Operations, Monitoring and Incident Response Division (DS/CTS/CMO/MIRD).

Location: Arlington, VA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with MIRD leadership to pinpoint opportunities for enhancing process and knowledge management.
    • Engage deeply with team processes to identify efficiencies and promote collaboration across divisions.
  • Develop and execute strategies for process and knowledge management enhancements.
    • This may include streamlining customer interaction workflows, automating reporting tasks, and other initiatives aimed at boosting productivity and teamwork.
  • Support the project management lead in ongoing initiatives, particularly those related to cybersecurity enhancements, such as integrating new tools, automating workflows, and increasing operational effectiveness.
  • Gather and present reports detailing process enhancements and project developments.
    • Reports may encompass internal metrics, Federal Information Systems Management Act (FISMA) data, and other performance indicators established by higher management to drive improvements.
  • Convert verbal process descriptions into visual diagrams or other graphical formats to facilitate the identification of improvement opportunities.
  • Establish measurable metrics to illustrate trends in process improvements over time and report on advancements.
  • Recognize and address the needs of information end-users, ensuring organized access to content through platforms like SharePoint.
  • Monitor the utilization of knowledge management resources, assess their effectiveness, and manage related projects.
  • Lead initiatives to cultivate a culture of knowledge sharing and management within the organization.
  • Oversee the categorization, indexing, storage, and accessibility of all organizational knowledge, including various document types.
  • Design and uphold a comprehensive knowledge management framework that encourages knowledge sharing through the organization's operational processes and systems.
  • Examples of knowledge managed may include annual and quarterly FISMA artifacts, standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical standard operating procedures (TSOPs), Knowledge Base (KB) articles, concept of operations documents, quarterly performance metrics, internal and external SharePoint pages, inter-divisional product sharing, onboarding/training materials, etc.
  • Exhibit a proactive approach, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to enhancing processes, knowledge management, and project management within the organization.
Qualifications:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree with 9 years of relevant experience, Master's degree with 7 years of experience, or a High School diploma with a minimum of 13 years of experience.
  • Possession of an active PMP certification, or the ability to secure PMP certification within 6 months of employment.
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement, knowledge management, and project management.
  • Experience in cybersecurity organizations is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and proactive.
  • U.S. citizenship with an active Secret security clearance and the capability to obtain a final Top Secret clearance.
Preferred:
  • Certifications in ITIL, Agile methodologies, and cybersecurity (e.g., Security+, CISSP, etc.) are preferred.
