We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Substation Civil Structural Engineer to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading and designing high voltage utility Civil Substation projects. Your expertise in steel structures, concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, and foundations will be essential in ensuring the successful execution of these projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform design reviews of civil/structural design components, including substation structure design, rigid bus design, foundation design, oil spill containment design, retaining walls, masonry control shelters, and fire-walls.
- Develop and maintain technical expertise in design software, including STAAD.Pro, RISA 3D, FAD Tools, SAFE, SAG10, and LPile.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality control and compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget expectations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
- Participate in bid and proposal development, and contribute to the development of design packages.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of related experience.
- PE Licensure preferred.
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MATHCAD software.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
