The Project Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing client interactions and guiding Team Members on designated projects, ensuring timely and profitable outcomes that reflect high standards of excellence. Key Responsibilities:

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Oversight: Create and manage project timelines utilizing construction documents and logical sequencing. Address scheduling challenges, devise recovery strategies, and document delays through scheduling software. (Both Project Manager and Superintendent share accountability for schedule oversight.)
  • Contractual and Risk Oversight: Ensure compliance with contract stipulations, manage project risks, and escalate contractual matters to appropriate stakeholders as necessary.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and other involved parties. Prioritize client satisfaction and effectively resolve project-related disputes.
  • Project Execution: Collaborate with the Superintendent to strategize and implement project plans. Conduct team meetings to assess progress, identify risks, and apply corrective measures. Ensure thorough and consistent project documentation.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Guarantee prompt payments to subcontractors and address any payment-related issues swiftly. Educate subcontractors on billing protocols and review requisitions to avert payment delays.
  • Safety Leadership: Model safety best practices, engage in safety meetings, and adhere to safety training protocols.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage project budgets, forecast expenses, and ensure timely payment of costs. Utilize financial tools to align with project agreements and uncover financial opportunities.
  • Client Development: Participate in client engagement initiatives, coordinate presentations, and assist in proposal development. Engage with relevant industry associations.

Leadership and Management:

  • Strategic Alignment: Inspire and align team efforts with Forrester's strategic objectives. Proactively address complex challenges and foster innovative solutions. Demonstrate comprehension of Forrester's Strategic Plan through daily outcomes.
  • Operational Execution: Implement processes to achieve objectives, resolve issues promptly, and delegate responsibilities effectively. Maintain accountability and ensure commitments are fulfilled.
  • Talent Development: Acknowledge achievements, promote learning, and mentor team members. Provide constructive feedback and address performance challenges using Forrester's Corrective Action Process.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must possess good vision, including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in diverse conditions, including construction sites with potential exposure to noise, dust, and extreme temperatures.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of general contracting experience managing projects exceeding $5M. Experience in similar project types and markets is preferred.
  • Consideration may be given to candidates with at least 7 years of relevant experience in construction management, estimating, or other construction trades.
  • CPR/First Aid and OSHA certifications are required within the first 90 days. Additional certifications (e.g., Maryland Environmental Green Card, EM-385) are advantageous.
