Technical Responsibilities

  • Schedule Management: Capable of developing a project schedule using blueprints and understanding the interdependencies and logic of construction. Identify issues and implement solutions, including recovery plans to adjust the schedule while maintaining original deadlines.
  • Contracts and Risk Management: Rigorously manage projects in accordance with contract terms and conditions. Appropriately escalate contractual matters to relevant stakeholders.
  • Client Relations: Oversee daily interactions with clients, architects, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction and value addition.
  • Conflict Resolution: Identify and mediate project-related disputes between the company and external parties.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with the Superintendent to devise a comprehensive plan for project execution. Conduct team meetings to assess plans, identify risks, and implement necessary corrective actions. Ensure thorough and consistent project documentation.
  • Subcontractor Oversight: Ensure timely payments to subcontractors and address any payment issues urgently. Educate subcontractors on billing practices and payment schedules.
  • Safety Leadership: Lead by example in safety practices, participate in safety meetings, and uphold all safety program requirements.
  • Financial Oversight: Proactively manage project financial risks and accurately forecast costs to completion. Utilize financial tools to ensure compliance with project agreements.
  • Client Development: Engage in client development activities and facilitate introductions and presentations.
  • Pre-Construction Activities: Develop precise scopes of work and collaborate with subcontractors to ensure accurate pricing and effective bidding processes.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in general contracting, with a focus on managing projects over $5M.
  • CPR/First Aid and OSHA certifications required within the first 90 days of employment.
