The **IT Support Specialist** plays a crucial role in identifying and resolving user issues related to applications and software, while also directing requests to relevant departments when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Address user inquiries and technical problems, documenting incident classifications and diagnosing hardware and software issues.
- Follow up with users to ensure issues are resolved and incidents are closed in the tracking system.
- Identify trends and patterns in incidents and maintenance, providing ad hoc reports as needed.
- Gather information from users to understand and resolve issues remotely or in person.
- Maintain, analyze, and repair hardware and software systems effectively.
- Support and uphold information technology (IT) policies and procedures.
- Set up and configure new systems, applications, and upgrades.
- Manage user account information, permissions, and rights, including group settings.
- Set up and troubleshoot domains, user accounts, and software accounts.
- Configure, test, and troubleshoot network connectivity and wireless access for local and remote devices.
- Replace or upgrade hardware components such as memory, keyboards, and motherboards.
- Format, install, set up, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop and laptop computers for end users.
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve technical issues.
- Participate in the on-call rotation as required.
- Travel to the local office as needed to assist with repairs, new hire setups, and various tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a professional setting providing IT support; experience in a professional services firm is preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Advanced computing skills, particularly in Windows 11 and Microsoft 365.
- Strong interpersonal skills and maturity to handle potentially challenging situations professionally.
- Willingness and ability to learn IT support functions and processes; a background in Information Technology is preferred.
- A+ and/or Network+ certification is advantageous.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Bentley products is a plus.
