MAINTENANCE PROJECT MANAGER

Position Overview:

The Maintenance Project Manager is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and exercising authority over the planning, organization, and execution of maintenance activities related to productive equipment within a customer facility, as part of a Maintenance Contract.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of skilled technicians in the customer facility, focusing on Preventive Maintenance, Troubleshooting, and minor repair tasks.
  • Leverage expertise in PLCs, CAN Bus, and other diagnostic tools to maintain automated systems, conducting root cause analysis for equipment failures.
  • Manage and monitor expenses through effective scheduling of both internal and external resources.
  • Participate in customer production and planning meetings as required.
  • Identify areas for enhancement and provide recommendations to the customer.
  • Respond to customer inquiries promptly, ensuring technician availability for emergency repairs.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted safely and prioritize the safety of the maintenance team.
  • Conduct skills assessments and develop both on-the-job and formal training programs for Maintenance Technicians.
  • Lead the on-site maintenance team to deliver exceptional service to the customer.
  • Represent the company professionally within the customer facility, demonstrating ethical behavior, competence, and a willingness to identify and solve problems beyond the contracted scope.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Educational Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of a two-year technical degree is preferred.

Experience Requirements:
  • CPMM Certification or completion of a trade school apprenticeship is advantageous.
  • Experience in team leadership and management is preferred.

Work Environment:

The role is primarily conducted indoors within a production and office setting, typically temperature-controlled unless equipment is located outdoors.


Potential Hazards:
  • Exposure to cuts and burns.
  • Contact with dirt, dust, grease, and oil.
  • Work in a noisy environment.

Work Schedule:
  • Standard working hours with potential overtime required to meet deadlines, travel obligations, and urgent situations.

Travel Expectations:
  • Remote work is performed at customer sites.

Competencies Required:
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and assess maintenance needs.
  • Proficient in using CMMS (SAP, MAXIMO, e-Maintenance, etc.) for work order creation, maintenance scheduling, spare parts management, data analysis, and report generation.
  • Capability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and measuring devices.
  • Consistent and reliable in fulfilling obligations and meeting deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in task completion.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in computer usage, including file management and internet navigation.
  • Knowledgeable in computer applications such as email, databases, word processing, and spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Timely response to customer inquiries and issues.
  • Problem identification and solution implementation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various levels of management, team members, and customers.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and similar structures.
  • Capability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Mobility to navigate between work sites as necessary.
  • Ability to perform sedentary tasks that involve sitting or standing for extended periods.
