The successful candidate will assist our RNs in providing high-quality patient care, adhering to the NYS LPN scope of practice and NYULH policy. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Participating in patient-centered quality and performance improvement programs
  • Acquiring and maintaining current LPN knowledge and competence
  • SUPPORTING THE MISSIONS, PHILOSOPHY, STANDARDS, GOALS, AND OBJECTIVES OF NYULH
  • Collecting patient healthcare data systematically and using appropriate assessment techniques and instruments
  • Enforcing adherence to NYULH and FGP policies and procedures and standards
  • Participating in coordination of unit activities to provide patient care in a healing, humane, and caring environment
  • Engaging in self-assessment and participating in activities to promote own professional growth and development
  • Obtaining patient vital signs, weights, EKGs as needed
  • Performing blood collection/phlebotomy as needed
  • Administering medications, including injections in accordance with NYULMC clinical guidelines and NYS Scope of practice
  • Assisting with maintaining patient flow to and from exam rooms and treatment areas
  • Maintaining an awareness of current patient-centered evidence-based practices and using knowledge of applicable research data in provision of patient care
  • Collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and promoting collegial relationships
  • Assisting patients and communicating with licensed providers to obtain prescription renewals as needed
  • Performing patient-related functions as directed by the Licensed Provider and/or Registered Nurse (RN), and documenting properly
