Job Overview

The Copper River Family of Companies is in search of a Senior Business Analyst to facilitate the identification, analysis, and development of requirements for a logistics IT system supporting the United States Air Force. As a key member of the functional management office (FMO) team, the Senior Business Analyst will play a crucial role in the creation, documentation, and delivery of functional specifications and associated documentation.

This role involves collaboration with a variety of stakeholders to gather and validate requirements, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of business needs. Responsibilities encompass drafting change requests, establishing exit criteria, engaging in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and providing ongoing production support as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with management, decision-makers, system owners, and end users to clarify business and system requirements.
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders and end users to troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues.
  • Collect, refine, and document requirements through Baseline Change Requests (BCRs) and Deficiency Reports (DRs).
  • Prepare and present reports, recommendations, or alternatives addressing current or potential challenges.
  • Lead or participate in Functional Review Board (FRB) meetings to evaluate and prioritize new requirements and system defects.
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) events, including the development and execution of test plans and cases.
  • Provide training to end users on new and modified system functionalities.
  • Offer help desk and production support, addressing inquiries and investigating system issues and trouble tickets.
  • Research relevant laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to business process execution and compliance.
  • Prepare written reports or briefings as requested.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, logistics, business, management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience/Skills:
    • 3-5 years of experience within the Department of Defense (DoD).
    • Proven background in supporting IT systems and conducting requirements analysis.
    • Strong analytical and research skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Knowledge or experience in DoD or Air Force logistics, finance, or procurement.
    • Background in Systems Engineering is advantageous.
    • Familiarity with the USAF Purchase Request Processing System (PRPS) is preferred.
    • Experience with cloud-based systems and complex system interfaces is a plus.
